Psychic Poker Chip Plus – Chris Wardle

A trio of very visual routines by Chris Wardle, (with props that are different to the other Poker Chip outfit introduced by us.)

Psychic Poker Chip.
The performer displays a small cloth bag and has a spectator feel the outside of the bag. They feel a “mystery” poker chip inside.
There are 5 poker chips on the table in black and white with different symbols (ESP designs) in their centers. A spectator is asked to name any chip, – no force. (say STAR).
The STAR chip is taken by the performer and placed into the bag with the mystery chip. The other 4 rejected chips are now picked up individually and placed into the performer’s pocket as they are shown on both sides, named and pattered about.
With a clearly empty hand, the performer now removes from the bag the STAR chip that the spectator chose and hands the spectator the bag.
They look inside and remove a matching STAR chip! The mystery chip is a perfect match to the spectator’s choice! The bag is otherwise empty.

Time Traveling Chip.
The performer shows a small drawstring bag and removes 5 ESP poker chips from inside, a circle, cross, wavy lines, a square and a star.
A spectator is invited to name any of the designs. For example they say the cross. The performer places the cross ESP poker chip into the drawstring bag.
The performer explains that the ESP chips were in the bag just now but that they travelled to the show in the performer’s pocket. So saying, with a clearly empty hand, the chosen chip is taken from the bag and placed into the performer’s trouser/pants pocket.
The performer says that we all think of time travelling as a notion of science fiction. But we are all travelling in time constantly as every second passes. We are just going in one direction! Forwards!

As a magician, there are ways to bend the established rules of what we expect to see or experience. Therefore, the performer proposes to try out an experiment in time travel.
Taking their watch, the hands are wound back by 2 minutes. The performer explains that 2 minutes ago the chosen ESP chip was in the drawstring bag and NOT in the performer’s pocket.
Reaching into the trouser/pants pocket, the lining is turned inside out and the pocket is now empty!
The spectator is asked to pick up the drawstring bag and to look inside. There is the chosen ESP chip that they chose moments earlier! It has travelled back in time!

Vanishing and Appearing Chips

The performer displays 5 ESP poker chips in a lidded jewellery case or any similar box.
The box is turned so its back is facing the audience, then a large handkerchief is taken by each corner and made into a little ‘bag’.
The performer picks up each chip in turn and places it into the handkerchief. The performer makes a magical gesture and shakes out the handkerchief  – the chips have vanished!

The box is now turned back towards the audience and the chips are seen to have returned to the box!

Supplied complete with all the required Chips and Gimmicks in a handy drawstring Carry Bag, with full instructions for all the three effects.
