The performer displays three red feather plumes and an apparently empty tube. Each plume is passed through the tube and emerges from the other end unchanged.
After uttering a few magic words (or performing to background music), the performer once again passes the plumes through the tube. This time, however, the red plumes magically change into saffron (orange), white and green, the colours of the Indian national flag!
For the grand finale, the performer gathers all three plumes together and passes them into the tube. With one final magical gesture, they transform into a jumbo patriotic tricolour plume!
The tube can also be shown empty at the conclusion, adding a clean finish to this colourful and surprising routine.
