We have just re-made this novel “gimmick”, after more than 10 years. Being a gimmick, this is apparatus your audience will never see.
What it enables you to do is to form your hand into a fist, with the thumb sticking out, like a pipe. You suck on your thumb, and blow out clouds of real smoke. Plenty of big puffs. Then show your hands empty.
The gimmick uses a real cigarette stub for the smoke feature, and would not be suitable for non smokers. It is also not for use by minors.
